Khao Yai National Park Temporarily Closes Kroak E-Dok Waterfall
Khao Yai National Park has closed the Kroak E-Dok Waterfall to visitors for two days due to heavy rainfall and flash flood risks.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Khao Yai National Park has officially announced a temporary closure of the Kroak E-Dok Waterfall, located in Cha-om Subdistrict, Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province. The closure is effective from August 31 to September 1, 2026.
Park officials implemented this measure following persistent heavy rainfall in the headwater areas, which triggered flash floods and created dangerous, turbulent currents in the local streams. Chaiya Huayhongthong, head of Khao Yai National Park, stated that the decision aligns with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation’s policy, which prioritizes visitor safety above all else.
For travelers and residents, this closure serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of monsoon-season weather in Thailand’s mountainous regions. While park authorities have ordered strict monitoring of the area to prevent accidents, visitors planning trips to the region should remain cautious and check for updates from official park channels before traveling.
Although park officials noted that water levels have begun to recede, the two-day closure remains in effect to ensure the area is safe for public access. It remains to be confirmed whether the site will reopen on September 2, 2026, or if further extensions will be required depending on weather conditions.
