Southern Border Provinces Propose 96 Development Projects for Cabinet Meeting
Local authorities in Thailand's five southern border provinces are seeking over 13 billion baht in funding for 96 development projects to be presented at the upcoming mobile cabinet meeting in Songkhla.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, representatives from five southern border provinces—Songkhla, Satun, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat—have prepared a strategic development plan to be submitted during the mobile cabinet meeting scheduled for September 1, 2026, in Songkhla province.
The proposal includes 96 distinct projects with a preliminary budget request totaling over 13.089 billion baht. Local authorities, private sector representatives, and government agencies collaborated on these plans, which aim to address regional challenges and improve the quality of life and economic conditions for local residents. A significant portion of the requested funding, exceeding 11 billion baht, is earmarked for mega-projects specifically targeting the Pattani and Yala provinces.
For residents and visitors, this initiative highlights a major push for regional infrastructure and economic investment.
