Flash Floods Impact Cha-om Subdistrict in Saraburi

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 31, 2026, heavy rainfall occurring on the evening of August 30 caused flash floods in the Cha-om Subdistrict of Kaeng Khoi District, Saraburi Province. The downpour, concentrated in high-altitude areas near the Chet Khot and Krok E-Dok waterfalls, sent significant volumes of water into lower-lying communities.

The flooding impacted several villages, specifically affecting areas identified as Moo 2, 8, 9, 10, and 11. At the Khlong Hin Ruang area in Moo 9, some tourists were reported stranded at their accommodations due to the rising water levels. Local community leaders and officials intervened to assist those affected, and all individuals were confirmed safe. The water subsequently surged toward the Thai-Lao bridge in Moo 8, where strong currents were observed, before continuing into lower areas including Moo 2, 7, and 10.

For travelers and residents, this event highlights the risks associated with visiting mountainous or waterfall areas during periods of heavy rain. While authorities have successfully managed the immediate safety of those stranded, officials are currently monitoring the situation closely and conducting damage assessments. It remains to be confirmed how long the recovery process will take and whether further rainfall will exacerbate the current conditions in the affected subdistrict.
