Heavy rainfall in Saraburi province led to flash floods in Kaeng Khoi district, trapping tourists in resorts and causing vehicle accidents.
On August 30, 2026, heavy rainfall triggered flash floods in the Cha-om sub-district of Kaeng Khoi, Saraburi, according to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand. The sudden surge of water trapped tourists within local resorts, rendering roads impassable. Additionally, a pickup truck was swept into a canal by the force of the water, though all three occupants were successfully rescued.
The Saraburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM) confirmed that local authorities, including the village head of Moo 9, have evacuated tourists from high-risk areas to a temporary shelter at the village head's office. Officials are currently monitoring the situation as they wait for water levels to recede.
For travelers and residents in the area, particularly those near foothills, streams, and low-lying regions, authorities have issued a warning to exercise extreme caution and remain updated on official government announcements.
