Thailand Meteorological Department Issues Heavy Rain Warning for 43 Provinces

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has released a 24-hour weather forecast warning of increased rainfall across the country. According to Khaosod Online, 43 provinces are currently under alert, with 10 specific areas identified as being at risk for very heavy precipitation.

Residents and travelers in the affected regions should exercise caution, as the TMD warns that heavy and accumulated rainfall may trigger flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in low-lying areas where short-term water stagnation is possible. In Bangkok and its surrounding metropolitan area, there is a 60% chance of thunderstorms, with some locations expecting heavy downpours. Temperatures in the capital are forecast to range between 25°C and 35°C.

The northern region is experiencing significant weather activity, with a 70% chance of thunderstorms. Provinces such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, and Phitsanulok are among those expecting heavy rain, while Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, and Tak are specifically noted for the potential of very heavy rainfall.

While the TMD has provided these regional forecasts, the exact duration and intensity of the rainfall in specific localized areas remain subject to change. Those planning travel or outdoor activities in these provinces are advised to monitor local weather updates closely and remain alert to changing conditions in their immediate vicinity.
