Thai police apprehended a 45-year-old man wanted for a fatal assault just 24 hours before his 10-year statute of limitations was set to expire.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, police officers from the Crime Suppression Division arrested a 45-year-old man, identified as Nattawut, on August 30, 2026. The suspect was apprehended on the rooftop of a company building on Rama 9 Road in the Bang Kapi district of Bangkok.
Nattawut was wanted under a 2016 arrest warrant issued by the Bangkok South Criminal Court for charges related to a fatal assault. The case carried a 10-year statute of limitations, which was scheduled to expire on August 31, 2026. By taking the suspect into custody on August 30, authorities successfully prevented the case from being dismissed due to the expiration of the legal timeframe.
