National Sports Development Fund Announces Budget Reform for 2026-2027

According to Khaosod Online, the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) is implementing a three-phase operational upgrade to streamline its financial management. Chanasin Simadamrong, Deputy Manager of the NSDF, stated that the organization is currently focusing on monitoring the training of athletes preparing for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. This oversight involves direct engagement with sports associations to identify training needs, equipment requirements, and potential operational bottlenecks.

For the 2027 fiscal year, NSDF Manager Tanukiat Janchum has introduced a new strategy to accelerate the funding process. The goal is to finalize agreements with sports associations by October 1, allowing for an initial disbursement of up to 70% of approved budgets. This shift is intended to ensure that associations have immediate access to funds for organizing domestic competitions and training activities.

For residents and visitors, these changes primarily impact the administrative efficiency of Thailand’s sports sector. While the reform aims to improve the performance and readiness of national athletes, it does not directly alter public access to sports facilities or events.
