Legal Action Initiated Against Nakhon Phanom Local Official Over Alleged Recruitment Fraud
A lawyer has filed a fraud lawsuit against a local administrative organization (TAO) president in Nakhon Phanom, alleging a 600,000 THB bribe was taken for a government job that never materialized.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 30, 2026, a lawyer known as 'John' has publicly accused a president of a Tambon Administrative Organization (TAO) in Nakhon Phanom province of orchestrating a recruitment scam. The lawyer claims that his client, a recent graduate from Sakon Nakhon, paid 600,000 THB to the official in exchange for a guaranteed government position. Despite the payment, the client was never appointed to the role, and subsequent attempts to recover the funds were ignored.
In response, the lawyer has filed a fraud lawsuit at the Sawang Daen Din Provincial Court. Photographic evidence of the cash payment, consisting of six bundles of 100,000 THB, has been presented to support the allegations. The lawyer further suggested that the scale of this scheme could be significant, estimating that there may be as many as 20 additional victims involved.
