Suspect Arrested Following Aranyaprathet Gold Shop Heist

According to a report by Khaosod Online, Thai police have arrested a 36-year-old man, identified as Mr. Anon, in connection with a violent gold shop robbery in Aranyaprathet, Sa Kaeo province. The suspect allegedly used four improvised explosive devices to facilitate the heist at a prominent shopping mall. During the incident, the perpetrator, who wore a wig and face covering to conceal his identity, stole gold necklaces and bracelets weighing a total of 72 baht, with an estimated value exceeding 5 million baht, before fleeing on a motorcycle.

On the morning of August 30, 2026, a joint task force involving the Sa Kaeo Provincial Police, Aranyaprathet Police, and the Burapha Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Tambon Tha Kham, located approximately 4-5 kilometers from the town center. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, and authorities reportedly recovered the stolen gold.
