Suspect Apprehended Following Aranyaprathet Gold Shop Robbery

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 30, 2026, authorities have taken a suspect into custody following a robbery at a gold shop located within a prominent shopping mall in Aranyaprathet, Sa Kaeo province. The perpetrator, who wore a wig and head covering to conceal their identity, reportedly utilized four improvised explosive devices to facilitate the crime. Two of the devices detonated during the incident, while two others remained unexploded.

The suspect allegedly stole gold necklaces and bracelets weighing a total of 72 baht, with an estimated value exceeding 5 million baht, before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle. Police successfully tracked and apprehended the individual near a forested area by a railway line on the morning of August 30. The stolen gold was recovered during the arrest.
