Fatal Motorcycle Accident Reported in Lampang
A 15-year-old boy died in a motorcycle crash on the Lampang-Chiang Mai road; police are investigating the cause.
On the evening of August 29, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the Lampang-Chiang Mai road, specifically between kilometers 493 and 494 in Wiang Tan, Hang Chat District, Lampang Province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, local police were notified of the incident at approximately 6:30 PM.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of a 15-year-old male, a resident of Lamphun Province. A damaged black Yamaha motorcycle with a Chiang Mai license plate was found approximately 50 meters away from the victim, lying on the left shoulder of the road.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident highlights the inherent risks of navigating the Lampang-Chiang Mai route, particularly during evening hours. While initial assessments by the Hang Chat police suggest the motorcycle may have lost control, the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
