Soldier Arrested for Burglary of Military Officer's Home
Authorities have apprehended a 22-year-old soldier and his accomplice following a burglary at a military officer's residence in Bangkok.
On August 29, 2026, police from Sai Mai Station, in coordination with Air Force military police, arrested a 22-year-old soldier named Piyapong and his 22-year-old accomplice, Sukanya. The pair is accused of breaking into the home of a military officer and stealing a significant collection of valuables, including gold bars, diamond-encrusted jewelry, watches, and commemorative coins.
According to Khaosod Online, the suspects were apprehended with various pieces of evidence, including receipts for gold transactions and bus tickets from Nong Khai to Korat. During the investigation, the suspect alleged that while attempting to flee, he encountered police officers in Nong Khai and offered them 6.5 baht weight of gold bars in exchange for his release.
