Fire Extinguished at Khlong Thom Center; Authorities Warn of Donation Scams
A major fire at the Khlong Thom Center in Bangkok has been extinguished, with 11 injuries reported and no fatalities. Officials are urging the public to be cautious of fraudulent donation requests.
On the evening of August 28, 2026, a fire broke out at the Khlong Thom Center on Worachak Road, located in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai district of Bangkok. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the blaze was successfully brought under control by 05:32 on August 29.
Bangkok’s Erawan Emergency Medical Center confirmed that 11 individuals sustained injuries during the incident and have been transported to local hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, has directed the Public Relations Department to provide continuous updates regarding structural safety, restricted zones, and traffic diversions based on official data from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Ministry of Interior.

Authorities have issued a specific warning regarding the emergence of fake social media pages and accounts falsely claiming to collect donations for victims.
