Historical Records Clarify Status of Wat Pa Adulyaram in Khon Kaen

A recent report from Khaosod Online has brought historical documentation to light regarding the status of Wat Pa Adulyaram in Khon Kaen province. According to the 1982 registry of temples across Thailand, published by the Department of Religious Affairs, Wat Pa Adulyaram is officially listed on page 1488 as the seventh temple in the Nai Mueang sub-district, Zone 2.

This discovery serves as a significant development in a long-standing land dispute involving the temple. Heirs of the original land donor have been seeking to reclaim the property, arguing that the land title deed still bears the name of Mr. Hiang Phimsri. Despite previous court rulings and confirmations from relevant government agencies that the land belongs to the temple, the heirs, led by Ms. Chommanee Noichan, continue to pursue the matter through media channels. The dispute has also involved Mr. Woradet Changbu, a former inspector for the National Office of Buddhism.

For residents and those interested in local cultural heritage, this documentation reinforces the temple's long-standing legal standing. However, the situation remains complex. While the 1982 registry provides clear evidence of the temple's historical recognition, the ongoing legal challenges and public campaigns by the heirs indicate that the dispute over the land title deed has not yet reached a final resolution acceptable to all parties involved.
