Stock Exchange of Thailand to List Six New Chinese-Linked DRs

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is set to introduce six new Depositary Receipts (DRs) linked to major Chinese and Hong Kong companies on August 31.

According to a report by Prachachat Business, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has approved the registration of six new Depositary Receipts (DRs). These financial instruments, issued by Kasikorn Securities, are designed to track the performance of prominent Chinese and Hong Kong-listed companies, including Alibaba, Kuaishou, NetEase, Ping An, Pop Mart, and Xiaomi.

These new DRs are scheduled to begin trading on the Thai stock market on August 31. The initiative aims to provide Thai investors with a more accessible pathway to gain exposure to international equity markets without needing to trade directly on foreign exchanges.

For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this development highlights the ongoing expansion of the local financial ecosystem, offering more diverse investment vehicles within the domestic market. While this move simplifies access to global tech and retail giants, it is important to note that these instruments are subject to market volatility and the specific performance of the underlying foreign assets. Investors should monitor official announcements from the SET or their brokerage firms for specific trading details and risk disclosures. As of now, the listing is confirmed for the end of August, though potential investors should verify the specific terms and conditions provided by Kasikorn Securities before participating.
