Thailand to Launch 'TH-AI Passport' Digital Initiative on August 31
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has announced the official launch of the 'TH-AI Passport' project, with over 1.3 million people already registered.
On August 28, 2026, Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) officially introduced the 'TH-AI Passport' project during an event held at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel in Chaeng Watthana. Minister Chaiyamika Chidchob presided over the launch, which highlights the government's push toward integrating artificial intelligence into public services.
According to Khaosod Online, the initiative has seen significant public interest since pre-registration opened on August 19. Within less than two weeks, more than 1.3 million individuals have signed up for the program. The platform, referred to as 'AiPASS,' is scheduled to begin full operations on August 31, 2026.
