Two Men Arrested Following Fatal Assault in Khon Kaen
Police in Khon Kaen have detained two men accused of beating their uncle to death following a domestic dispute.
On August 28, 2026, authorities in Nong Ruea District, Khon Kaen, responded to a report of a fatality at a residence in Yang Kham sub-district. Police discovered the body of 53-year-old Mr. Phithak, who exhibited bruising on his face and torso.
According to Khaosod Online Thailand, investigators have arrested two suspects, identified as the victim's nephews, aged 33 and 35. Preliminary reports suggest the incident stemmed from ongoing domestic friction. The suspects allegedly told police that the victim frequently consumed alcohol and would habitually berate them regarding their employment status and financial contributions to the household when intoxicated. The confrontation reportedly escalated into a physical assault, during which the victim was struck and subsequently trampled.
