On August 28, 2026, a tragic traffic accident occurred on the Buriram-Satuek road in Ban Dan District, Buriram Province, resulting in the death of a 41-year-old local woman. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the victim was riding a Honda Wave motorcycle to a local temple to participate in a merit-making event when the collision took place.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Preechasak Sakyapreecha of the Ban Dan Police Station reported that the incident involved an 18-wheeler truck transporting animal feed from Kabin Buri to Yasothon. The truck driver, identified as 32-year-old Mr. Chaikaew, claimed that the motorcyclist fell into the path of his vehicle, stating he was unable to brake in time to avoid the collision. The motorcycle was found severely damaged at the scene, and the truck was located approximately 200 meters away.
