Man Arrested for Luring Delivery Riders into Makkasan Police Station for Theft

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 28, 2026, police in Bangkok have apprehended a 29-year-old man, identified as Mr. Thairath, for orchestrating a series of thefts at the Makkasan Police Station. The suspect reportedly lured delivery riders into the station premises under false pretenses, subsequently stealing various items, including tactical gear such as belts, leg holsters, and handcuffs.

Authorities, led by Makkasan Police Station Superintendent Pol. Col. Uramporn Khundechsamrit, arrested the suspect following an investigation. The stolen items were allegedly passed on to other delivery riders before being tracked to Lopburi province. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to the crimes, claiming he was motivated by a severe online gambling addiction and intended to use the stolen goods to build credit for future gambling activities.

For residents and travelers, this incident highlights an unusual security breach involving the exploitation of delivery services. While the suspect is now in custody, the case serves as a reminder to remain vigilant regarding unusual requests or instructions when performing delivery tasks, particularly those involving government or restricted facilities.
