Fatal Collision Involving Pickup Truck and Trailer in Ayutthaya
A 33-year-old man died following a head-on collision between his pickup truck and an 18-wheel trailer in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province.
On the morning of August 28, 2026, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the Tha Ruea district of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. According to reports from Khaosod Online Thailand, a Mitsubishi pickup truck collided head-on with an 18-wheel trailer on a road behind Wat Bueng in Wang Daeng sub-district.
Emergency responders from the Ayutthaya Rescue Association arrived at the scene at approximately 7:30 a.m. to find the pickup truck, bearing Saraburi license plates, severely damaged and off the side of the road. The 33-year-old driver, identified as Mr. Chonsorn, was pronounced dead at the scene. Rescue teams utilized hydraulic cutting equipment to extract his body from the wreckage. The second vehicle involved was an 18-wheel trailer registered in Nakhon Pathom.
For residents and travelers in the area, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety, particularly on secondary routes where heavy vehicle traffic may be present. Police Captain Chonnikarn Kongsema of the Pak Tha Police Station is currently leading the investigation. Authorities are in the process of reviewing local CCTV footage and interviewing relevant parties to determine the exact cause of the collision.
