Investigation Launched After Body Found in Aircraft Wheel Well at Kuala Lumpur Airport
Authorities in Malaysia are investigating the discovery of an unidentified body found inside the wheel well of a plane arriving from Tokyo.
According to reports from Khaosod Online, citing Asian News Network and The Straits Times, engineering staff at Kuala Lumpur International Airport discovered an unidentified body inside the wheel well of an aircraft on August 27, 2026. The plane had arrived from Tokyo, Japan, landing at Terminal 2 at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Engineering personnel were prompted to inspect the wheel well after detecting an unusual odor emanating from the compartment. Upon opening it, they discovered the body of an individual, estimated to be around 20 years old, wearing jeans and a white shirt. No identification documents were found on the person, and the gender has not yet been confirmed.
Forensic teams are currently processing the scene and conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and the timeline of the incident, with initial reports suggesting the individual may have been deceased for more than 72 hours.
