Investigation Launched into Alleged Abuse by Durian Warehouse Owner in Chanthaburi
Authorities in Chanthaburi are investigating a durian warehouse owner accused of luring minors into motels under the guise of job interviews.
On August 28, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that a mother and her 15-year-old daughter filed a formal complaint with the Chanthaburi Provincial Police and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The victim alleges that the owner of a local durian warehouse lured her into a motel under the pretense of a job interview for a clerk position and subsequently attempted to commit indecent acts.
According to the report, the suspect allegedly posted job advertisements for clerk positions to attract young applicants. The victim stated that she was taken to a motel under the guise of visiting a durian orchard. Furthermore, it is alleged that the suspect's wife attempted to offer 35,000 baht to settle the matter and silence the victim. Reports suggest that the number of potential victims could reach nearly 20, with the youngest being 13 years old.
