Construction Crew Rescues Kitten Found in Excavator Engine
A kitten discovered inside an excavator engine in Ohio has been adopted by a construction company employee after a successful rescue.
According to a report by Khaosod Online, a heartwarming rescue took place at a construction site in Leavittsburg, Ohio. Chase Guello, operations manager at RiverReach Construction, discovered a small orange kitten hiding within the engine compartment of an excavator during a routine inspection.
The construction team safely extracted the kitten and conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area to locate its mother or siblings, but no other cats were found. The team decided to care for the kitten, naming her “Komatsu” after the brand of the excavator, with the nickname “Sue.”
After spending two weeks in temporary care, the kitten was officially adopted by Jared, a mechanic at the company. To celebrate her new role as the site’s “shop cat,” the team provided her with a miniature safety vest and hard hat.
For residents and travelers, this story highlights the importance of checking vehicle engines, especially in areas where stray animals may seek warmth or shelter. While the kitten has found a permanent home, it remains unconfirmed if there are other stray animals in the vicinity of the construction site that may require assistance.
