On August 28, 2026, at a seminar titled 'Crisis of Confidence in Independent Organizations' held at the Rama Gardens Hotel in Bangkok, former senior Supreme Court judge Was Tingsamit publicly called on the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) to take legal action regarding alleged collusion in the Senate election. Mr. Was specifically urged the commission to submit the names of at least 120 individuals—targeting the top six candidates from each group—to the Supreme Court for adjudication.
The event, organized by the House Committee on Courts and Independent Organizations in collaboration with King Prajadhipok's Institute, featured prominent legal figures including former Deputy Prime Minister Borwornsak Uwanno and former NACC chairman Vicha Mahakun. During the discussion, former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva also cautioned that future constitutional drafting processes must be carefully monitored to prevent similar collusion among members of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA).
