Phayao Temple and Education Office Launch Summer Novice Ordination Program
Wat Pa Phuttha Chinawongsaram and the Phayao Secondary Educational Service Area Office have signed an MOU to host a summer novice ordination program for students from 2027 to 2029.
On August 28, 2026, Wat Pa Phuttha Chinawongsaram and the Phayao Secondary Educational Service Area Office (Phayao SESAO) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to implement a summer novice ordination project. The initiative, titled 'Developing Desirable Characteristics According to Buddhist Principles,' is scheduled to run annually from 2027 to 2029.
Phra Khru Apirak Chinawong, acting abbot of Wat Pa Phuttha Chinawongsaram, and Mr. Thongchai Janya, Director of Phayao SESAO, led the signing ceremony alongside various school administrators. The program aims to integrate the efforts of schools, temples, families, and local communities to foster moral development, discipline, responsibility, and gratitude among secondary school students. By participating, youth are encouraged to apply Buddhist teachings to their daily lives.
For residents and those interested in Thai cultural practices, this collaboration highlights the ongoing role of local temples in youth education and community development.
