Proposed Relocation of World Horticultural Expo Sparks Regional Tensions in Nakhon Ratchasima

According to Khaosod Online, the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) has proposed relocating the event from Khong District to Pak Chong District. Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Suriya Juangroongruangkit explained that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul tasked the NESDC with evaluating the two locations, concluding that Pak Chong offers superior infrastructure, including better road, rail, and bus connectivity to Bangkok.

In response to the potential loss of the event, these groups are now threatening to campaign for their districts to secede from Nakhon Ratchasima and form a new province, calling on the government to handle the matter with fairness.
