Authorities Search for Motorcyclist Following Fatal Hit-and-Run in Suksawat
Police are seeking a motorcyclist involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a 72-year-old woman at a pedestrian crossing in Bangkok.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, authorities are currently searching for a motorcyclist involved in a fatal collision that occurred on the morning of August 25, 2026. The incident took place at approximately 6:38 a.m. at a pedestrian crossing located in front of Prachapat Hospital in the Suksawat area.
Reports indicate that a 72-year-old woman was struck while using the crosswalk. The suspect was reportedly riding a blue Honda PCX motorcycle carrying two passengers. Witnesses and family members stated that the impact was severe enough to cause the motorcycle to fall; however, the driver allegedly picked up the passengers and fled the scene without providing assistance to the victim, who later passed away from her injuries.
While multiple CCTV angles captured the incident, none of the footage has successfully identified the motorcycle's license plate number. Family members of the victim have taken to social media to appeal for public assistance in identifying the individuals involved. For residents and travelers in the Suksawat area, this incident highlights the ongoing risks associated with pedestrian crossings in high-traffic zones. As of August 28, 2026, the suspects remain at large. Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the driver or the passengers, and the investigation is ongoing.
