Search Operation Underway for Missing Woman in Prachin Buri Forest
Over 100 rescue personnel and officials are searching for a woman who fled into a community forest in Prachin Buri province.
On August 27, 2026, a large-scale search operation was launched in Prachin Buri’s Prachantakham district to locate a woman reported missing from her home in Bu Fai sub-district. According to Khaosod Online, the woman, who reportedly suffers from a psychiatric condition and had missed her medication, fled her residence around 10:00 a.m.
By 11:30 a.m., witnesses observed the woman, who was not wearing clothing, running into a community forest spanning over 100 rai. In response, a coalition of more than 100 individuals—including local administrative officials, civil defense volunteers, and multiple rescue foundations—was mobilized to conduct a search. The operation utilized two thermal-imaging drones to scan the dense vegetation. Despite these efforts, the search continued until late into the night without success. Authorities suspended the operation at approximately 9:50 p.m. and plan to resume the search the following morning.
