Theft at Ratchaburi Temple: Two Suspects Pose as Masseurs
Police in Ratchaburi are investigating the theft of over 200,000 baht from a 76-year-old nun at Wat Khao Wang.
On August 27, 2026, authorities at the Ratchaburi City Police Station received a report regarding a significant theft at Wat Khao Wang, a royal temple located in the Ratchaburi municipality. According to Khaosod Online, a 76-year-old nun, who has resided at the temple for 55 years, reported that more than 200,000 baht in cash had been stolen from her living quarters.
The nun stated that at approximately 1:20 PM, a man and a woman, both estimated to be around 50 years old, arrived at the temple on a Honda motorcycle. The pair claimed to be masseurs and attempted to befriend the nun. During this interaction, the suspects allegedly gained access to her room and removed the cash from her bag without leaving signs of a forced entry or ransacking.
For residents and visitors, this incident serves as a reminder to remain cautious when approached by strangers offering unsolicited services, even within religious or community spaces. While the investigation is ongoing, with forensic teams having processed the scene, the identities and current whereabouts of the two suspects remain unconfirmed.
