Thailand Records Historic High in e-Payment Transactions for July 2026

According to a report from Khaosod Online Thailand, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) has announced that Thailand reached a historic peak in electronic payment (e-payment) activity during July 2026. Deputy Minister Boonyida Somchai stated that the total value of e-payment transactions hit 10.62 trillion baht, marking a 12.23% increase compared to the same period last year and a 2.59% rise from the previous month.

In total, there were 4,567.57 million individual transactions recorded in July, surpassing the 12-month average of 4,234.87 million. For the first seven months of 2026, the cumulative transaction count reached 30,027 million, reflecting a 10.49% growth year-on-year. The Ministry suggests these figures indicate that digital payments have become deeply integrated into the daily lives of residents, covering everything from retail purchases to personal money transfers.

For travelers and residents, this trend confirms that Thailand’s digital infrastructure is highly robust, making cashless transactions increasingly convenient across the country.
