12-Year-Old Boy Seeks Help After Alleged Abuse in Phetchabun
A 12-year-old boy in Phetchabun province was hospitalized following alleged physical abuse by his stepfather, prompting his great-grandmother to seek police intervention.
On August 26, 2026, emergency responders from the Sawang Mongkhon Sattha rescue unit in Lom Sak District, Phetchabun, were called to assist a 12-year-old boy who had reportedly been physically assaulted by his stepfather. According to Khaosod Online, the child, identified by a pseudonym, was found with visible bruising and expressed fear about returning to his home in Nam Chun sub-district.
The boy’s 76-year-old great-grandmother, identified as Nang La, reported that she took the child to a local police station after he arrived at her home showing signs of injury. She noted that the child had allegedly suffered multiple incidents of abuse in the past. She expressed concern regarding the family's living situation, noting that the boy’s mother has hearing and speech impairments, which complicates the child's care and safety. The boy was subsequently transported to Lom Sak Hospital for medical treatment and recovery.
