The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding a strong southwest monsoon affecting coastal and inland regions.
According to the Thai Meteorological Department, a rather strong southwest monsoon is currently prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. This weather pattern is accompanied by a monsoon trough extending across Myanmar and Laos toward a low-pressure cell in Southern China.
Impact on Weather and Travel Residents and travelers should prepare for thundershowers across the country. The department has specifically highlighted the potential for isolated heavy rains in the Northern, Central, and Eastern regions.
Maritime conditions are expected to be hazardous. In the upper Andaman Sea, waves are forecast to reach heights of 2 to 3 meters, potentially exceeding 3 meters during thundershowers. Similarly, the upper Gulf of Thailand is expected to experience waves of approximately 2 meters, which may also rise above 2 meters in areas affected by storms.
