SAM and KTC Partner to Assist Debtors via 'Debt Clinic' Program

Sukhumvit Asset Management (SAM) and Krungthai Card (KTC) have signed an MOU to help non-performing loan (NPL) holders restructure debt with reduced interest rates.

On August 27, 2026, Sukhumvit Asset Management (SAM) and Krungthai Card (KTC) announced a strategic partnership to support individuals struggling with unsecured debt. According to Khaosod Online, the two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to integrate KTC’s non-performing loan (NPL) accounts into the 'Debt Clinic by SAM' program.

This initiative is designed for individuals with credit card, cash card, or unsecured personal loan debt who have been in default for over 120 days. Eligible participants must have total debt not exceeding 2 million baht and be under 70 years of age. The program offers a restructured interest rate of 3–5% per annum, with repayment terms extending up to 10 years.

For residents in Thailand, this development is significant as it provides a structured pathway for financial recovery for those burdened by high-interest unsecured debt. By consolidating debts under this program, individuals may find it easier to manage their monthly obligations. However, it remains to be confirmed how many KTC customers will qualify for the program based on their specific financial history and whether similar partnerships will be established with other major financial institutions in the future. Interested parties should contact SAM or KTC directly to verify their eligibility status.
