Thai AirAsia Expands Domestic Flight Schedule for Year-End Peak Season
Thai AirAsia is increasing flight frequencies and routes starting October 1, 2026, to accommodate anticipated growth in domestic tourism.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, Thai AirAsia has announced a strategic expansion of its domestic flight network for the final quarter of 2026. Starting October 1, the airline will increase flight frequencies across its network to meet expected demand during the year-end peak travel season.
Under this plan, the airline will operate flights from two Bangkok hubs: Don Mueang (DMK), serving 22 routes, and Suvarnabhumi (BKK), serving three routes to Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai. Additionally, the carrier is introducing nine cross-regional flight paths to improve connectivity. Pairach Pornpattananangkul, CEO of Thai AirAsia, noted that the airline previously reduced flights due to rising fuel costs and lower travel demand. However, the company anticipates a significant recovery in domestic tourism through early 2027, supported by promotional plans from the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
For travelers and residents, this expansion offers more flexibility and options for domestic travel during the busy holiday period. The airline emphasizes its commitment to safety and punctuality as core service standards.
