Live Pig Farm-Gate Prices Increase in Eastern Thailand

Starting August 28, 2026, live pig prices in Eastern Thailand will rise by 2 baht per kilogram, impacting supply chain costs.

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Chonburi Pig Raisers Cooperative and the National Swine Raisers Association have announced a price adjustment for live pigs. Effective August 28, 2026, the recommended farm-gate price for live pigs in the Eastern region will increase by 2 baht per kilogram, moving from the previous range of 74–77 baht to 76–79 baht per kilogram.

For residents and travelers, this adjustment is expected to influence wholesale and retail pork prices across the region. The Department of Internal Trade attributes these rising costs to increased overheads in energy and transportation, which have impacted producers. While the current trend shows an upward movement in prices, the Department of Internal Trade anticipates that increased supply entering the market between October and November 2026 may help stabilize or lower prices in the coming months.

It remains to be confirmed how quickly these farm-gate increases will translate into final consumer prices at local markets and restaurants. Additionally, the Department noted that egg prices are facing similar cost-related pressures, though no specific price adjustments for eggs were detailed in this announcement. Residents should monitor local market prices as the new rates take effect.
