Bangkok Launches Dengue Vaccination Pilot for Primary Students
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has initiated a dengue vaccination program targeting fourth-grade students in 40 high-risk schools.
On August 27, 2026, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) officially launched a dengue fever vaccination campaign for fourth-grade students. According to Khaosod Online, Deputy Governor Tavida Kamolvej visited Wichakorn School in the Din Daeng district to oversee the rollout of this initiative, which is part of a broader project to enhance immunity against the virus in high-risk areas.
The pilot program is currently being implemented across 40 schools located within five specific districts: Khlong San, Thon Buri, Bangkok Yai, Bang Kho Laem, and Din Daeng. Health officials from the BMA’s Health Department and local public health centers are coordinating the administration of the vaccines to students in these designated zones.
For residents and travelers, this development highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities to mitigate the impact of dengue fever, a mosquito-borne illness that remains a public health concern in Thailand.
