Authorities Assist Three Siblings Living Alone in Buriram
Social development officials have intervened to support three children living without electricity or water in Buriram province following the loss of their parents.
On August 27, 2026, Khaosod Online reported that the Buriram Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) intervened to assist three siblings living in isolation in the Sakae Sam sub-district of Buriram. The children, aged 13, 11, and 9, had been residing in a dilapidated home lacking basic utilities such as electricity and running water. Their situation came to light after a social media post highlighted their plight, noting that their father is currently incarcerated and their mother is deceased. Neighbors and relatives had been providing occasional food and essential supplies to the children.
According to Piyanat Sangiamsak, the provincial head of the MSDHS, officials from the Buriram Children and Family Home were dispatched to the site immediately upon receiving the report. The authorities have taken the two younger children, aged 11 and 9, into the care of the provincial children's shelter. The eldest sibling, aged 13, has been placed under the temporary care of relatives.
