Police have arrested a 62-year-old former parliamentary candidate, known as 'Nayok Heng,' on charges related to a scheme involving fraudulent local government recruitment exams.
On August 27, 2026, officers from the Anti-Corruption Division (ACD) apprehended 62-year-old Prawit, widely known as 'Nayok Heng' or 'Phu Yai Heng,' at a condominium in the Bang Sue district of Bangkok. The arrest follows an arrest warrant issued by the Region 3 Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases.
According to Khaosod Online, authorities allege that Prawit was involved in a scheme where money was solicited in exchange for promises to secure government positions for applicants. Upon his arrest, Prawit denied all allegations, claiming that his LINE account had been impersonated. He maintained that he had no involvement in the alleged network, denied receiving any illicit funds, and asserted that there is no financial trail linking the transactions to his personal accounts.
