Wang Thonglang Police Conduct Active Shooter Drill at Na Darun School
Police and school staff in Bangkok held a simulated active shooter drill to improve safety protocols for students and teachers.
On August 27, 2026, officers from the Wang Thonglang Police Station collaborated with Na Darun School in Bangkok to conduct a comprehensive active shooter response drill. Led by Police Colonel Jessada Yangnok, the exercise aimed to enhance safety measures within the educational facility by simulating a high-stakes emergency scenario.
During the drill, teachers and student leaders practiced the "Run, Hide, Fight" protocol, a standard safety procedure for responding to armed threats. The simulation covered the entire school building, providing participants with hands-on experience in managing potential crisis situations. The initiative was designed to equip student leaders with the knowledge necessary to share safety techniques with their peers, ensuring a broader understanding of emergency responses across the student body.
For residents and visitors in the area, this event was a localized safety training exercise and did not indicate an actual security threat. While such drills are part of ongoing efforts to improve school safety in Thailand, it remains to be confirmed how frequently these specific simulations will be expanded to other institutions in the district. No further incidents were reported in connection with this training activity.
