National Statistical Office Hosts Government Data Catalog Day 2026
The National Statistical Office held an event to promote data integration and digital transformation under the 'GD Catalog for All' initiative.
On August 26, 2026, the National Statistical Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, hosted the 'Government Data Catalog Day 2026' at the Impact Forum in Nonthaburi. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the event was held under the theme 'GD Catalog for All: Connecting Data, Building Power, Driving the Future.'
Dr. Ekapong Rimcharoen, Director of the NSO, presided over the opening ceremony and presented the 'GD Catalog Award' to 29 organizations. The initiative aims to unlock the potential of government data, facilitating a more data-driven approach to national development and public services.
For residents and travelers, this event highlights Thailand's ongoing efforts to modernize its digital infrastructure. While the immediate impact on daily life may not be visible, the long-term goal is to improve the efficiency and accessibility of government services through better data management. As the country moves toward becoming a data-driven nation, users may eventually experience more streamlined digital interactions with state agencies. It remains to be confirmed how these data integration efforts will specifically influence future public service platforms or the availability of open data for private sector innovation.
