Bank of Thailand Announces Senior Executive Reshuffle

The Bank of Thailand has approved a series of senior management appointments and transfers effective October 1, 2026, as part of an organizational restructuring.

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Bank of Thailand (BOT) has finalized a series of leadership changes aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and preparing for future economic challenges. Jiranuwat Thanyacharoen, Secretary of the BOT Board of Directors, announced that the board approved these shifts, which are scheduled to take effect on October 1, 2026.

The restructuring includes three key appointments: Suwannee Jatsadasak, currently Deputy Governor for Corporate Management, will transition to Deputy Governor for Financial Institutions Stability, replacing Rung Mallikamas, who will move to the role of Advisor to the Governor. Additionally, Daranee Saeju, formerly Assistant Governor for Strategy and Special Projects, has been promoted to Deputy Governor for Payment Systems Policy and Financial Consumer Protection. Finally, Peerajit Patamasoot, previously Senior Director of the Financial Consumer Protection and Market Conduct Department, has been promoted to Assistant Governor for the Financial Consumer Protection and Retail Credit Business Supervision line.

For residents and expatriates, these changes reflect internal administrative adjustments within the central bank. While these appointments are unlikely to cause immediate disruptions to daily financial services, they signal the bank's strategic focus on financial stability and consumer protection. It remains to be confirmed how these new leadership roles will influence specific regulatory policies or retail banking oversight in the coming months.
