Grab Thailand Launches 'Group Ride' Feature to Reduce Travel Costs
Grab Thailand has introduced a new 'Group Ride' feature allowing up to four pickup or drop-off points, alongside an expansion of its electric vehicle service.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand on August 26, 2026, Grab Thailand has officially launched a new feature called 'Group Ride.' This service is designed to facilitate group travel by allowing users to select up to four different pickup or drop-off locations. The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to optimize routes and calculate fares based on the actual distance traveled, with the company claiming the feature can reduce travel costs by up to 40%.
In addition to the ride-sharing feature, Grab Thailand is expanding its 'Grab EV' service, which allows passengers to specifically request electric vehicles. Arisa Lorthongpaisan, Assistant Managing Director of Transport and Driver Management at Grab Thailand, noted that these initiatives align with the growing demand for sustainable travel options, particularly among Gen Z and Millennial demographics. The company reported a 35% increase in the usage of the Grab EV option.
