Recovery Efforts Progress in Nan Following Severe Flooding

On August 26, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Yoschanan Wongsawat, visited Nan province to inspect the progress of post-flood recovery efforts. As the head of the committee addressing flooding and drought in Northern Thailand, Yoschanan reported that clearing operations, including the removal of mud and debris, have reached over 80% completion in some areas, such as Ban Hia.

Yoschanan met with a resident known as 'Pa Kalong,' whose house was completely destroyed by floodwaters and mud. He presented a 3D model of a new, elevated house designed to ensure future safety, confirming that government and local agencies are accelerating both physical restoration and financial compensation.
