State Railway of Thailand Announces Six-Month Trial Stop at Sanam Chandra Palace
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is introducing a six-month trial period for four train services to stop at the Sanam Chandra Palace station in Nakhon Pathom, starting September 1, 2026.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced a trial initiative to improve transport accessibility in Nakhon Pathom province. Starting September 1, 2026, and continuing through February 28, 2027, four ordinary train services will include a scheduled stop at the Sanam Chandra Palace station.
The affected services include trains 251 (Thon Buri–Prachuap Khiri Khan), 252 (Prachuap Khiri Khan–Thon Buri), and 259 (Thon Buri–Nam Tok). This measure is intended to provide additional travel options for local residents, as well as students and staff associated with Silpakorn University and its demonstration school.
For travelers and residents, this change offers a more convenient transit point near the university campus and the historic palace grounds. While the SRT has confirmed the schedule for this six-month trial, passengers are advised to verify specific arrival and departure times through official railway channels before planning their trips. It remains to be seen whether the SRT will permanently adopt these stops based on passenger demand and operational feedback following the conclusion of the trial period in February 2027.
