Authorities in Nakhon Ratchasima are preparing to revoke the appointments of 151 local government employees following a corruption investigation into recruitment exams.
According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, the Nakhon Ratchasima provincial administration is initiating the process to revoke the appointments of 151 local government staff members. This action follows a decision by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to elevate a case involving alleged exam fraud to a 'special case' status. Out of 569 total individuals recently appointed, these 151 positions are now under scrutiny due to irregularities in the competitive examination process.
Local officials have been instructed to finalize the necessary administrative orders by the end of August 2026. Provincial authorities have warned that local government executives who fail to sign the revocation orders may face legal consequences under Section 157 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to malfeasance in office. The move comes after more than 20 candidates formally requested to review their exam scores due to suspicions regarding the integrity of the results.
