Five Women Fined for Exercising on Sukhumvit Road
Police in Sattahip have fined five women who filmed a dance and exercise video in the middle of a public road, citing traffic obstruction.

Following the circulation of the footage, Police Colonel Komsan Kamtunkew, Superintendent of Sattahip Police Station, ordered traffic officers to identify and locate the individuals involved. The five women, who are employees at a nearby karaoke venue, were brought to the station for questioning. They were charged with obstructing traffic as pedestrians without reasonable cause and subsequently fined.
During questioning, the women explained that they intended to create social media content during late-night hours when traffic was light, believing their actions would not cause issues. They expressed regret for the incident and apologized to the public, promising not to repeat the behavior. For residents and travelers, this incident serves as a reminder that public roads in Thailand are strictly for transit, and using them for unauthorized activities—even during quiet hours—can lead to legal penalties.
