Rayong Residents Discover Potential 'Swan Cave' Entrance

On August 25, 2026, residents of Moo 10 in Krachet, Rayong, led by village headman Watchara Sawaengswat, explored a site known locally as 'Khlong Tham' (Cave Canal). Located near the Ban Tapun Thong–Saman Mit road, the site was identified based on ancestral oral traditions suggesting it is the 'end' of the famous Swan Cave, which is currently a subject of significant local interest near Wat Thong Hong.

During the exploration, the group cleared a path to reveal a large cave entrance measuring approximately five meters in width—large enough to accommodate a vehicle. Residents report that the cave features a perennial stream that provides a reliable water source throughout the year, even during dry seasons, with some locals already utilizing the water for residential use. The interior contains natural water channels, though the full depth and extent of the cave system remain unexplored.

For travelers and residents, this discovery highlights the rich geological and cultural landscape of Rayong. While the site is visually striking, it remains unverified by official geological or archaeological authorities. The community is currently awaiting formal investigation to confirm if this site is indeed connected to the broader Swan Cave network. Visitors are advised that the area is currently an informal exploration site and has not been developed for tourism.
