Asia Plus Group Shifts Strategy to Boost Wealth Management
Asia Plus Group reports a 516% profit surge in the first half of 2026, pivoting toward wealth management to reduce reliance on stock market volatility.
According to a report by Prachachat Business, Asia Plus Group (ASP) has announced a strategic shift for 2026, aiming to prioritize wealth and asset management services. The company intends to grow its Assets Under Management (AUM) to over 80 billion baht, seeking to stabilize revenue streams by reducing its dependency on fluctuating stock market conditions.
This strategic pivot appears to be yielding results, as the company reported a significant 516% increase in profit for the first half of 2026, totaling 324.92 million baht. Pitayen Asavanig, the Chief Financial Officer, highlighted that this growth reflects the effectiveness of the new business model in generating recurring income.
For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this development signals a broader trend in the local financial sector, where established firms are diversifying their services to mitigate risks associated with market instability. While the company’s financial performance has shown strong growth in the short term, the long-term success of this transition remains to be confirmed as the firm continues to scale its asset management operations. Investors and those utilizing local financial services may observe more aggressive marketing and service expansion in the wealth management sector as firms like ASP compete for a larger share of the market.
