According to a report by Khaosod Online citing the BBC, citizens, activists, and politicians in Nepal have organized protests demanding stricter laws following the abduction, rape, and murder of a three-year-old girl in Jitpur Simara, Bara District. The child went missing on August 16, and her body was discovered two days later, triggering widespread national anger.
Local police have confirmed the arrest of nine suspects, including a 14-year-old boy, and are continuing their investigation. In response to the unrest, the Cabinet met with the victim's family and signed a written agreement promising to review legislation regarding heinous crimes and to construct a memorial for the victim, Garima Chaudhary.
