Gold Shop Employee Clarifies Viral Confrontation at ATM

A gold shop employee in Pathum Thani has addressed a viral video showing a heated argument with a customer using an ATM, stating the dispute began over loud phone usage.

On August 25, 2026, a gold shop employee named Mr. Sumont addressed a viral video depicting a confrontation outside his workplace in the Navanakorn area of Pathum Thani. The footage, which circulated on social media, showed a verbal altercation between Mr. Sumont and a man using an ATM located in front of the shop.

According to Mr. Sumont, the conflict began when he requested that the customer lower his voice while speaking on speakerphone. Mr. Sumont stated that he asked the individual to hold the phone to his ear to reduce the noise level, emphasizing that he did not intend to prevent the customer from using the ATM or talking on the phone. The employee claimed the customer responded aggressively, leading him to record the interaction. Both parties admitted to using profanity during the exchange, though Mr. Sumont confirmed that no physical violence occurred.

For residents and travelers, this incident highlights the importance of maintaining public decorum in shared spaces, particularly near private businesses that manage the surrounding area. Mr. Sumont noted that the shop pays for the electricity and maintenance of the ATM site. While the situation has since de-escalated, it remains unclear if any further action will be taken by the parties involved or the authorities regarding the public disturbance.
